    2. Project Leadership. Be it a time-bound Project or a business organization, it is leaders who set who set the direction and managers who execute the plans. It is leaders who inspire people while managers ensure things go as per plan. Projects need leader sand Project Managers must therefore learn about Leadership. This slide deck goes into the concept of Leadership.
    3. Leadership and Management. This section goes into defining what Management is and what Leadership is. Both are different and distinct from each other. Management involves achieving the organizational goals through activities of planning, organizing, leading and controlling thus effectively utilizing its limited resources. Leadership is the process of influencing others to do their best and thus achieve the organization goals. Leaders do this on the basis of 4 types of power.
    4. Projects need Leaders or Managers ? This section discusses the situation in projects. The outcome of a project would differ greatly based on the balance of management and leadership within the project. The section also details the difference in role and activities of managers and leaders. The section concludes with the many roles and responsibilities of a project manager which require a fine balance of both managerial and leadership skills.
    5. Managing Project Stakeholders. This section goes in explaining who stakeholders are and the dependence of a project manager on the vast relationships within a project environment. As such, the key to managing this is in understanding that different groups have different stakes in the outcome of the project.
    6. Stakeholders Environment. This section details out the various agencies connected to the project, the various relationships and their roles. It shows the stakeholders network comprising of Project Team, Project Managers, Functional Managers, Top Management, Project Sponsors, Customers, Administrative Groups, Government Agencies, Contractors.
    7. Influence as Exchange. This section treats the concept of leadership influence as a currency. Developing this analogy further, just as currencies are traded on stock exchange, it makes clear the commonly traded organizational currencies on the Influence exchange. These are explained as task-related currencies, position-related currencies, inspiration-related currencies, relationship-related currencies, person-related currencies.
    8. Social Network Building. This section explores the relationship dependencies for Project Manager, effective characteristic of a project manager, the concept of managing by walking around, managing upward relations, and 6 aspects of leading by example.
    9. Ethics and Project Management. This section briefly touches upon the idea of ethics. An action or conduct by the project manager that can greatly set a right or wrong example for the project members. Many a times there are situations where it becomes difficult to determine if a specific conduct is wrong or right and a project manager’s actions are always being observed by others. It will always set an example.
