PPT Covers:
- Why Leadership PPT
- Why Leadership? This section begins with a quote from Warren Bennis that states the one factor that makes all the difference to a company is Leadership. The section further includes some eye popping stats on the stock-price of well-led companies, variance in companies performance, and the cause for removal of CEO’s all showing a correlation to the quality of Leadership within the company. This research on Leadership data is provided by Institute for Strategic Change and Harvard Business School.
- Leadership Defined. This section includes more than three definitions from management gurus like Peter Drucker, John C Maxwell, Warren Bennis that summarize leadership as a personal attribute of a leader person.
- So What is Leadership? Leadership is a state of mind, it is about character, it is about having a vision, it is the ability to create bonds, it is about the ability to make people work together towards a common purpose.
- DNA of a Leader. This section essentially focuses on Leader’s having a DNA. This DNA has 6 building blocks that make a person a successful leader. The 6 building blocks are Drive & Passion, Desire to lead, Integrity, Self Confidence, Intelligence, and Job Relevant knowledge. Each of these Leader’s DNA are explained.
- Leader's Role. Alongwith the DNA there are 5 Key Roles a leader plays. The 5 Key roles are Create Vision, Build Teams, Allocate Tasks, Develop People, and Motivate Followers.
- Key Role of Create Vision is explained as - Identifying your vision, Setting Goals to achieve that vision, Setting an action plan to achieve those goals by breaking down goals into achievable objectives, and monitoring those plans and helping people achieve the vision.
- Key Role of Build Teams is explained as - Developing tasks and leading people to carry out those tasks. No one person can carry out all the tasks thus a team is required to be developed. A leader’s role is to nurture a cohesive team, cultivate team problem solving mindset in them, build loyalty and provide help and care.
- Key Role of Allocate Tasks is explained as - Delegation is the key. A leader decides what is to be delegated, decides how it is to be delegated and who should be assigned the authority.
- Key Role of Develop People is explained as - Leaders create leaders in others. This is done by identifying people’s core competencies and understanding each person’s needs and styles.
- Key Role of Motivate Followers is explained as - Stimulating motivation within people, inspiring by example, exploiting the human side, sharing stories, being enthusiastic, focusing on others dreams, getting to know people, sharing excitement, involving everyone, looking for talents and abilities and communicate success. Leadership is Action, not a position. Discover and learn more inside the Why Leadership PPT.
