- What is Sigma? This section begins with an overview covering the evolution of quality. It introduces what is sigma and it’s two meanings and the sigma levels.
- What is Six Sigma? This covers the meaning of Six Sigma, the 7 quality control Levels. It further covers the origin of six sigma concept, its growth and the companies that have adopted and implemented the Six Sigma program.
- Why Six Sigma? This section highlights several factors of why sig sigma is favored by many companies. These factors include money, quality, customer satisfaction, competitive advantage, growth and employee pride. Six Sigma impacts these factors which in turn impact these factors important to a business organization. Other factors to be considered are cost of poor quality due to defects, reworks, scraps, delays, the cost to business.
- Six Sigma Phases. The concept of six sigma is made up of 5 phases abbreviated as DMAIC – Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Each of these 5 phases of the six sigma concept are explained here briefly covering what each of these phases do, their deliverables and checkpoints for their readiness.
- Tools for Six Sigma. This section covers the Six Sigma tools used to drive the implementation of Six Sigma under the DMAIC roadmap to eliminate root causes that lead to process problems. These tools are Process Maps, Design of Experiments (DOE), XY Matrix, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Process Capability Tool, Hypothesis Testing, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Control Plan.
- Key Group Key Roles in Six Sigma. The scale of Six Sigma projects is organization-wide. In the project group there are several expert roles beginning with Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, Yellow Belts, and White Belt.
