2. Why Do We Need A Strategy? This is the question, each one of us must ask first, before even trying to understand what strategy really is. What do we end up doing in the absence of strategy? This section answers that and introduces the five definitions of strategy. Strategy as a plan, a ploy, a pattern, a position and a perspective.
3. Henry Mintzberg‘s 10 Schools of Thought on Strategy. Professor Mintzberg structured the literature and thinking on strategy called Mintzberg’s 10 Schools of Thought for Strategic Management. They consist of - 3 Prescriptive Schools (Design, Planning, Positioning) and 7 Descriptive Schools (Configuration, Cognitive, Cultural, Entrepreneurial, Environmental, Learning, Power).
