- The Vital Link Be tween People and Information is Communication. Every Business Organization is established with a Vision and Mission. This vision and mission are translated to goals that are communicated to all those who become a part of it including its managers and its employees. Thus people working within an organization are always dependant on each other for information that helps to achieve the organizational goals and plans.
- The Complex Network of information in Organizational Communication. In an organizational communication takes places at many levels and in many forms weaving a complex network of information between managers and employees within the organization – internally. Similarly communication takes place externally – between the organization and its suppliers and customers. This complex network can be separated into two channels; the Formal communication network and the Informal communication network.
- The Informal Communication Channel. This section explains what is informal communication called the Grapevine and it’s importance in the day to day functioning of the organization. The grapevine is considered important by the management when it needs to know reactions and responses of the people as a whole to the various policy decisions implemented by the owners and top management. It cannot be ignored.
- Activities that lead to Variation in Business Communication. Essentially communication activity as whole varies from business to business and it depends on factors like the nature of your business, the operating plan, geographical dispersion and it’s people who make up the organizational culture.
