    PPT Covers:
    1. Nonverbal Communication PPT
    2. The Nature of Nonverbal Communication. Any communication between two individuals that does not depend on verbally spoken words and the message is communicated through visual cues of body postures, gestures, signs, facial expressions, touch, tonality (sounds), proximity and time is considered as Nonverbal Communication. In comparison to words, nonverbal communication accounts for the majority of the total communication message. Thus the nature of NVC is vague and not precise and it must be clearly studied.
    3. Nonverbal Communication has a Universal Appeal. It is one of the oldest forms of communication before oral communication of sentences and grammar was full developed. It takes place at every level of life – Individual to Individual, in groups, amongst family and friends, in business organizations amongst superiors, peers and customers, and also in formal and informal social settings. It goes beyond cultural boundaries and language.
    4. Nonverbal Communication relies on Observation & Interpretation. It must be viewed in a context to understand what the nonverbal components mean or they can be easily misunderstood. For this one must understand that there are two categories available to observe and then interpret an individual’s non verbal communication. They are Intended and Unintended Nonverbal communication.
    5. Intended Nonverbal communication. Intended NVC is a conscious effort. The individual communicator deliberately conveys the message using meaningful gestures, postures, expressions, tone and other forms of body language to fully communicate an idea to his listener.
    6. Unintended Nonverbal communication. Unintended NVC takes place unconsciously. It is something the individual communicator does not have a control over. It is not deliberate. The gestures, postures, expressions, tone and other forms of body language become an integral part of the communication without the listener being able to control them beforehand as he is in ignorance about them being sending a meta or a second level message. Often unintentional NVC easily leads to misunderstandings. Thus while observing and interpreting an individual’s nonverbal communication one must always see the totality of the message in the given context.
    7. Four Types of Nonverbal Communication. NVC messages can be understood by breaking them down into four types of language namely; Body Language, Space Language, Time Language and Para Language.
    8. Nonverbal Communication through Body Language. This section on Body Language covers the understanding of how gestures, emotional states, facial expressions, physical appearance influences the overall message. To develop a deeper understanding you can download the Body Language Beginner's Guide PPT.
    9. Nonverbal Communication through Space Language. This section on Space Language covers the knowledge of four types of space - Intimate, Personal, Social and Public.
    10. Nonverbal Communication through Time Language. This section on Time Language covers the knowledge on two types of Time Orientations: Monochronic and Polychronic.
    11. Nonverbal Communication through Paralanguage. This section on Paralanguage covers the impact of spoken language w.r.t effect of the speed, pitch, volume, and connectivity of spoken words.
    12. Using Verbal and Nonverbal Communication. Communication, to be effective must always have consistency of words spoken and the delivery of message to give a clear meaning. This must always be the goal. Thus effective communication can be achieved by positively influencing the three expectancies that people infer subconsciously about an individual. They are background factors, physical appearance and personality. Discover and learn more inside the Nonverbal Communication PPT.
