    2. What Is Personality? The section begins with the meaning of personality and its definitions. The meaning of personality can best be understood by answering the questions - what makes up a Personality? The fundamental characteristics of Personality are - personality has consistency, personality has psychological and physiological basis, personality impacts behaviors and actions, personality is expressed through multiple dimensions. We begin the process of Personality Identification by asking questions.
    3. MBTI Theory.MBTI Theory must be understood to understand MBTI. This section covers in specific details the origin of MBTI. It starts with Carl Jung’s Theory of Psychological Types on which the MBTI forced –choice personality inventory is based. It states how Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother Katherine Briggs developed MBTI on Jung’s psychological types and for what purpose. It further explains the base assumptions about MBTI and explains the theory of psychological types, Jung’s 4 main functions of consciousness, and the 8 Psychological Types.
    4. MBTI - 4 Dichotomies & Type Preferences. What Are Dichotomies? What Are Type Preferences? This section further introduces the function of MBTI stating that it is not created to label or stereotype people instead it is a tool to for personality insight. It simply means that MBTI allows you to understand a person’s preferred way of dealing with the world. Thus to understand this one must understand how the psychological types are used with the 4 dichotomies of attitude towards world, Information processing, decision-making, and structure orientation. The 4 dichotomies are broken down into 8 type preferences. Attitude towards world - Extrovert (E) or Introvert (I), Information - Sensing (S) or Intuitive (N), Decisions -making - Thinking (T) or Feeling (F), Structure Orientation - Judging (J) or Perceiving (P). A person while answering the psychometric questionnaire goes along with one type preference over others eventually resulting into a “personality type” expressed as a code of four letters.
    5. 4 Dichotomies & Type Preferences. Each of these are 4 dichotomies alongwith the 8 Type preferences are explained in easy words. The section further has a summary slide of the above. Session I completes your understanding of what MBTI is. Session II covers the 16 Personality types in great details.
